• The Christie – I have blogged for them numerous times and also attend in their Secondary Breast Cancer conference they organize.  Also involved in Patient Representative Groups in various areas of the hospital.
  • MacMillan – I’ve recently joined the Breast Pathway Board for Greater Manchester as a Patient Representative for secondary breast cancer.  I was also asked to take part in ‘Changing Prospects 2016’ where I was on the patient panel to talk about a ‘good survival’ living with and beyond cancer
  • Salford UniversityWoMMeN (Word of Mouth Mammography e Network) I contibute as a patients advocate to this new initiative for women who are having a mammogram for the first time or subsequent times.
  • Prevent Breast Cancer (formerly The Genesis) – I have presented at their CCC (Cross Cultural Conference) and regularly attend their Asian Breast Cancer conferences as well as being peer support at the Patient and Patient Support Initiative – PaPSI
  • 100k Genomes Cancer PPI group – Genomics England has an initiative to gather 100,000 patients DNA across the UK.  I have joined the Manchester group as the patient representative.
  • ECMC – Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre in Manchester – I am the patient representative on the steering committee.
  • FACT – Fit After Cancer Treatment – I have been involved in their branding and presented at their launch of this great initiative which is in conjunction with Greater Sport (Greater Manchester)
  • Cancer Warriors – have set up a local Saddleworth face to face cancer group with this charity due to seeing the demise of the recent cancer support network. It is held every 3rd Tuesday of the Month at Scona Cafe in Uppermill
  • Users & Carers at Salford University – teaching by – involved student learning where I have spoken to groups about my own story so that nurses can learn from my experience.
  • #Oldhamhour – this is a twitter chat (every Monday 9-10pm) for local businesses which was created by myself and two other local business people – Lee Hollingsworth and Jude Gidney
  • METUP UK the latest collaboration to bring you something that is currently in USA but I saw the need for a group for advocacy in the UK mission statement – committed to ending death by metastatic breast cancer through direct action demanding research funding for a cure – see our Twitter and Facbook pages for further information
