abcd - After Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Sad & tragic to hear about Deborah James & thoughts are with her family & friends at this time 💔Awareness of course is key BUT (and this is a big BUT) we still have a huge void between primary diagnosis & for ANY #stage4 cancer diagnosis.I’m #BusyLivingWithMets but #dyingforacure as outcomes need to be improved MASSIVELY.Where are the uptodate outcomes for MBC/SBC?Do you know your survival rate for your specific SBC?The MEDIAN for MBC/SBC is 2-3 years - and I'm certainly not happy with that figure it's poor and we need much better. We maybe living a bit longer BUT we are still dying. Dying too quickly. And way too young to be dead from cancer.#secondarybreastcancer 11500 die every single year31 every day#bowelcancer 16800 every single year46 every daySo as you can see it's not just about checking breasts or checking poo it's being aware after a primary diagnosis of RED FLAG symptoms of secondary incurable stage 4 cancer. That was why I created the infographics and why everyone should be aware of AFTER primary diagnosis. Those are the discussions that need to be had. There is a problem with:-- awareness- drug access- clinical trials- inequalities (inc NHS vs private) - data - we just are not countedand so so much more...There are so many issues that need to be addressed when you have stage4 cancer.#ISeeYouThere is SO much more that needs to be done.Thankfully at ABCD and @METUPUK we are trying to highlight this with the brilliant information and campaigning we do. www.abcdiagnosis.co.uk/resources/infographics/ ...
